Breast inflammation during breastfeeding
Inflammation of the breast during breastfeeding - Doctor advises
Hello doctor, our daughter-in-law has had one or both breasts harden several times while breastfeeding her one-month-old grandson. Last time the gynaecologist prescribed her antibiotics which he said she could take while breastfeeding, but I think that was not the best way to go. Now her breasts are hardening again. Would you recommend shining a biotron lamp to relieve the inflammation in her breasts?
Answer
Breast inflammation (mastitis) occurs during breastfeeding. The breast is swollen, painful. The overall symptoms resemble the flu (headache, joint pain, muscle pain, nausea, fatigue, sometimes fever). Treatment should be started immediately (antibiotics are given after two days).
I can definitely recommend the application of Biostimulus in this case. Not, however, the use of the Biptron lamp. In this case it is necessary to choose a phototherapy device that does not overheat and therefore cannot promote inflammation in any way (it does not have a halogen light source and does not contain an infrared component and is therefore a so-called cold light).
The Biostimul systems use the modern Fotonyx method of monochromatic, red, LED cold polarised light. This light has a strong anti-inflammatory effect and has the ability to effectively suppress the inflammatory process. At the same time, it reduces pain and swelling, promotes tissue regeneration.
Recommended application: 2-3 times a day on the breast and underarm area.
Regular applications will suppress inflammation, relieve tension and also act as a preventive measure against recurrence.
